In addition to writing, Michael performed the role of Gonzo in table reads, and spent time interviewing the show’s cast and crew after several years of operation to collect best practices and lessons learned. These conversations led Michael to additional R&D collaborations with the Muppets.
Bringing the Muppets to life for theme park audiences is a team effort. As PART OF THE WRITING TEAM for The Magic Kingdom’s The Muppets Present…Great Moments In American History, Michael was responsible for working with Imagineering’s Live Entertainment group, The Muppets writing staff, and other writers to CRAFT A LIVE MUPPETS EXPERIENCE that maintained the brand’s signature style and humor, while being viable as a live theatrical experience delivered multiple times a day with a rotating cast of performers.
